Editing audio
file.. Following are a
few operations which one can perform on a sound file through Edit feature of
Audacity. These operations are the basic ones and are required to achieve
many of the final effects. e.g. to be able to select a desired section of a
sound wave file is a basic operation required for many further operations
like deleting, amplifying, copying, changing pitch etc. |

1. Split stereo into two mono tracks. 2. Select a desired section of sound file. 3. Enlarging X-axis to view minute details. 4. Moving or sliding a selected section along time axis. 5. Copy paste and Cut paste of selected portion. 6. Creating new blank tracks. 7. Selecting zero crossing point. 8. Checking frequency spread in a selected section. 9. Inverting waveform 180 upside down. 10. Importing / exporting a selected portion from / to another application. 11. Open two sound files simultaneously. 12. Mxing two tracks together and give single combined track. 13. Adding labels at desired locations for visual reference. 14. Muting one or more tracks for listening desired ones during editing.
